Application Steps

Interested applicants should apply via the application portal once applications are open. Applications will open on 9 March 2026 and are expected to close on 23 April 2026.
Due to limited vacancies, applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible. Please note that once all vacancies are filled, the application may close earlier than the stated deadline. In the event that vacancies are full, a notification will be posted on the website.

Note: Please use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox for your application to avoid browser compatibility issues.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome within 1 week after completing an application.
Students can find the cluster that they are assigned to under ‘Recommended Cluster’.
In most cases, students are able to get their first-choice cluster. In cases where you did not get your first-choice cluster, you will be communicated with, and also be given an explanation on why we believe another cluster is more suitable for you. The organizer will contact you to suggest another cluster before sending the official offer.

Once you are in the application portal, fill in the form as instructed and create your application. You will receive an email with your password for a unique application account.

Successful applicants will be issued an email / letter of offer to attend the workshop. The email will also contain information about payment of programme fee.
After students have received an offer to the workshop, students can log in to the application system and go to the ‘Accepted’ page (students can find the ‘Accepted’ button located on the left panel).

Log in to the application portal using your email address and the password to upload your supporting documents. You are required to combine all your supporting documents into one single pdf file before uploading them to the portal. All documents MUST be in readable format of appropriate size and without the reviewer needing to rotate the document. A gentle reminder to name the file in English.

To accept the offer to attend the workshop, please make payment of the programme fee stated in the offer letter within the specified time frame to secure your place in the workshop.

Please note that you MUST complete the application form and submit your documents for the application to be ready to process. Failure to do so would delay the processing of your application.

Note that the actual course (within a cluster) for a student to work on his/her project will only be decided AFTER the student has attended all the course introductory lectures within the student's assigned cluster in Phase 1. Nevertheless, during the application stage, each applicant will be asked to provide indications of which course(s) he/she would like to work on his/her project.

Upon completing payment of programme fee, you will be officially enrolled into a cluster in the workshop. Applicants are assigned to a cluster based on a number of factors including the applicant's preference, academic background and performance, and the availability of a cluster. You can check the cluster assigned to you in the application portal.

Note that the actual course (within a cluster) for a student to do his/her project will only be decided AFTER the student has attended all the topic introductory lectures within the student's assigned cluster in Phase 1. Nevertheless, during the application stage, each applicant will be asked to provide indications of which topic(s) he/she would like to do his/her project.

Fees and Payment

There is no application fee incurred. The programme fee is only payable if your application is successful and you have received an offer letter / email from the organiser. Once you have received an offer email, you may log in to the application portal to make payment before the stipulated deadline in your offer.

The programme fee is SGD5,980. The following are included in the programme fee:

Teaching and learning (provision of NUS student account and student card, access to university facilities including NUS student learning platforms, classrooms, programming labs, study rooms, etc.);
Course materials (applicable to certain courses due to course requirements);
Transportation
- 6 & 7 July (Airport Transfers by fixed timing shuttle buses only)
- 21 and 30 July (NUS UTown to Hotels, and Hotels to Singapore Changi Airport)
Welcome session with lunch and farewell ceremony with dinner;
EZ-Link Card (public transport card);
Summer Workshop T-shirt;
Medical consultation fees in the event that a participant escorted by our staff or student facilitator consults a General Practitioner (GP) in the University Health Center for common illnesses such as cold, flu, diarrhea, headache, and stomach ache;
Certificate of Completion and Performance Slip (project-winning teams will receive an additional award certificate and prizes).
Accommodation: Accommodation is included in the programme fee and will be arranged by the organizers. Students are not required to apply for accommodation separately.
From 6 to 20 July 2026, students will stay on campus in NUS UTown.
From 21 to 30 July 2026, students will stay off-campus, in hotels.
From 21 to 30 July, students will be stay in one of these 5 hotels. The stay will be twin sharing rooms with two single beds. Daily 2-way transport at some fixed timing between outside hotels and SOC are included and have been arranged by the organizer.

Airfare, visa fees and meals (except for welcome session and farewell dinner) are not included in the fee.
