If you continue to have issues with the application, please write to sws.soc@nus.edu.sg for assistance.

Please rename your file in English and resubmit it in one PDF file.
An official academic transcript should be endorsed by your university with the university logo as the heading, listing clearly all the courses you have taken to date and the corresponding course grades. Please do not provide screenshots or an Excel table of your grades as these do not reflect the legitimacy of your academic record.

We suggest waiting for another 2-3 days to see if the amount is returned to your account. We did encounter some Alipay payment cases where the transaction was shown as successful in Alipay but the amount was eventually returned to the account. You can also check directly with Alipay or your bank to confirm whether the transaction is indeed successful.
For better compatibility, use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox on a PC. If issues persist, try the following:
If the problem continues, please contact us at sws.soc@nus.edu.sg for assistance
The payment is via the application system. We accept payment via VISA, Mastercard, Amex, Alipay. We would recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser on a PC to avoid compatibility issues. Do remember to allow pop-ups with your browser. Please also try using a VPN. After students have received an offer to the workshop, students can log in to the application system and go to the ‘Accepted’ page (students can find the ‘Accepted’ button on the left panel). Students can find the cluster that they are assigned to under ‘Recommended Cluster’.
By Default, students will be enrolled into their first-choice cluster. If not, the organizer will contact you to suggest another cluster before sending the official offer.
Emails will be sent to students closer to May to provide more details about the workshop, including the lecture schedule for Phase 1.
For Phase 1, you will be required to attend all the online lectures within the same cluster. Upon completion of Phase 1, you are then only able to rank your course preference within your cluster. This will determine the final course which you will be exploring in depth in Phase 2.
In general, Year 1 students are not accepted into the Cloud, IoT, Security and AI cluster since it is intended for Year 2 and above students. Year 1 students are advised to apply for the X-cluster which is specifically designed for Year 1 students.
If you are really interested in Cloud, IoT, Security & AI cluster, or and Media, Analytics, Security & AI cluster, you can still apply for it. The review committee will review accordingly. If the reviewing committee finds that your background is more suitable for X-cluster, you will also be notified via email.
A cluster is a collection of courses sharing common characteristics. A course is a specific topic under a cluster that you will be exploring in depth for your project in Phase 2 (July).
Upon confirmation of your participation in the workshop, you will be assigned to a cluster. You will not be assigned to a course at this point.
In Phase 1 (May) of the workshop, you will be attending introductory lectures on all the courses under your assigned cluster. By the end of May, when you have completed the introductory lectures and have a better idea of each of the courses in your cluster, you will be asked to indicate your preference for the course that you wish to explore further in Phase 2 (July).
The Organizer will then allocate a course to you based on a number of factors including but not limited to your course preference, Phase 1 lecture attendance, Phase 1 quiz and/or assignment score, academic integrity, the availability of a course, etc. You will then proceed to Phase 2 of the workshop in July to attend advanced lectures and develop a group project in this course.
In general, there will be 3 to 5 students per project group depending on the class size of the course.
Please take note that your final course will only be determined in June and there is no guarantee that you will definitely be allocated to the course of your first choice. You are advised to wait until your final course is confirmed, and approach the instructor for more details.
We do not have deferment for the programme. All participants who wish to participate again are still required to apply via the online application next year and the applications will all be reviewed equally by the reviewing committee to be fair for all applicants.
The total workload of the Summer Workshop is about 130 hours. Please take note that the final course will only be determined in June and the course details will only be disclosed by your course instructor closer to Phase 2 when there is more clarity on the exact course schedule and arrangement. The actual schedule for different courses may differ, as each professor could have a different preference and arrangement for their courses.
Generally in Phase 2 , there will be 6-8 hours of study including Seminars and project work in each day.
With reference to the NUS modular system, Grading system is used instead of a percentage scale.
For example, an A- grade is equivalent to a grade point of 4.5 out of 5.

For any of the introductory lectures that you are unable to attend due to valid reasons, please apply for absence. This will be announced subsequently via emails.
Please refer the official Program Schedule of the Summer Workshop at the Official Homepage.
