PHASE 2 - FINAL SHOWCASE

29 Jul 2026

This is the big day when you will demonstrate your project in a final showcase after weeks of intensive construction and refinement. This is a valuable opportunity to learn from your peers by exploring the diverse ideas and approaches everyone has contributed, helping you grow academically and professionally. While the focus is on shared learning and collaboration, the top three groups will also be recognized and awarded for their outstanding work.

Summer Workshop 2026 is an interactive program that integrates theory into practice. Students gain valuable industry insights and knowledge through lectures and have opportunities to hone their computing skills through hands-on experience in projects.

The programme is divided into 2 DISTINCT PHASES where participants get an overview of the courses in their respective clusters through synchronous online introductory lectures in PHASE 1, and immerse in the full face-to-face learning experience when they come over to NUS for the advanced seminars and project work development in PHASE 2. A detailed programme schedule will be sent to students after their participation is confirmed.

PHASE 1 (9, 10 May, 16, 17 May,  23 and 24 May 2026)

From May, you will embark on the first phase of the workshop.  This intensive learning phase features live lectures delivered online. Your professors will share their expertise through each of their own unique teaching styles. While embarking on this interactive virtual learning experience, you would gain an overall understanding of each of the courses before you dive into your projects.

At the application stage, each student will be assigned to a cluster. In Phase 1, students will attend the introductory lectures of the courses in their respective cluster. The lectures will be held on Saturdays and Sundays (9, 10 May, 16, 17 May and 23, 24 May). For the Cloud, IoT, Security & AI cluster and the Media, Analytics, Security & AI cluster, each cluster has 7 courses and each course will have a 3-hour lecture , either in the morning, afternoon or evening.  X-Cluster has 3 courses and each course will have 6 hour lecture.

Lecture attendance is compulsory as your attendance will determine your eligibility for a particular course at the course selection stage in June. After which, you may also be given mini assessments or quizzes which will assist the professors in determining your suitability for their courses.

In end May, after completing the lectures, you will then rank your course preferences within the cluster to study and do a group project during Phase 2. Courses are then assigned based on your preference, course availability, attendance, performance in your preferred course and other relevant factors.
